Epistola Non Erubescit
Francesco Galetto recently graduated from the Yale School of Architecture with a M. Arch. degree, receiving both the Charles Gwathmey Scholarship as well as the H.I. Feldman Prize Nomination for best student project.
Originally from Washington, DC, Francesco studied art history and urban studies at Vassar College graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in 2006. Francesco previously worked at Studio Daniel Libeskind in Zurich and at daSILVA Architects in New York CIty. And established WoodshopNYC, a small wood shop, with partner Hugh Laughlin prior to returning to Yale University.
Throughout his studies and professional work, Francesco's interests have gravitated towards the idea of scaffolding. The inherent conditions within scaffolding being one of growth or decay, allowing for a steady change of space. Furthermore, he has a keen intrest in exploring material properties and fabrication techniques; marrying old with new.
